Minnesota Timberwolves trade rumors 2016: Young core enhanced with 76ers' Nerlens Noel?

A trade suggestion was made and it will see the Minnesota Timberwolves improve massively, while the Philadelphia 76ers will fulfill a roster need. The potential swap is headlined by Tyus Jones and rumor mill favorite Nerlens Noel.

In this exchange the Wolves are landing Noel, while the 76ers are getting Jones.

Accomplishing a deal with the 76ers, especially for one of their young big men, could be a walk in the park as of the moment. It might even be easier if in return, they are adding someone who can address one of their problems.

That is why there is a strong possibility of this materializing once both squads decide to push through with it.

Jones will be the answer to Philadelphia's issues at the no. 1 position. There is also a good chance he gets the starting nod from head coach Brett Brown.

The Wolves can afford to give up Jones since if he leaves, they still have Ricky Rubio and Kris Dunn (2016 fifth overall pick) at point guard.

Noel's acquisition might be the final piece of the puzzle for the Timberwolves to transform from a promising unit to a contending franchise.

There are already big expectations for the Timberwolves and these get bigger if they have Noel. However, there is a chance to live up to them since his arrival will make them younger and adds size to the front line.

Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau could play Noel alongside Karl-Anthony Towns. They will be twin towers who are threats on both ends of the floor which make life difficult for opposing teams.

Thibodeau may also utilize Noel as a reserve who is going to be a spark off the bench. He will lead the second unit and make them competitive even if their main guys are off the floor.
