'Mistresses' season 3 spoilers: cast change-up as Alyssa Milano leaves and Jennifer Esposito signs on, actors Ed Quinn and Rob Mayes also cast

Viewers of the hit ABC drama show "Mistresses" should expect some major changes in season three. This is a result of its lead actresses' exit that was announced last year in October. Milano chose to leave the show after the filming team moved to Vancouver in Canada due to financial reasons. The star has two children under four and does not wish to separate her family.

However, with Milano's exit comes actress Jennifer Esposito's entry. The "Blue Bloods" star won't be playing Milano's character, but is an entirely new character created by the writers. Esposito will be playing the role of Calista Raines, a creative director of a luxury fashion brand, reports TVGuide. Calista is "uber-fabulous" and "larger-than-life", living as a socialite with a great sense of humor and style. However, the director will also have a darker shade to her character. She befriends Joss.

Meanwhile, another new character is set to enter the show. Actor Ed Quinn from "Eureka" will appear for 10 episodes in season three as Dr. Alec Adams. He works at the hospital and is constantly ruffling feathers, reports CaterMatt. Adams also gets angry and offended easily and has trouble getting along with people. However, the doctor also has a softer side as the sensitive man deeply cares for his wife. She is, incidentally, a patient at the hospital.

TVLine reports that a third new character will join the cast. Actor Rob Mayes of "The Client List" fame will play a man named Mark. Handsome, in his early 30s, Mark lives a care-free life. He is part of April's family and winds up working with Harry. Mark and Harry get close and a bromance ensues. The article also hinted at a possible romance between Mark and one of the show's core female characters.

With the abrupt departure of Milano, Savi's future hangs in the balance. How will she exit? "Mistresses" season three is expected to air in the beginning of June 2015.
