It will get more interesting and entertaining for the households in 'Modern Family' season 6 in the upcoming episodes.

In a new episode, Mitch tries to help out a colleague named Brenda who is dealing with personal problems. In an effort to help out a friend in need, Mitch and Cam asks Brenda to come over for a visit in hopes of making her aura lighter.

Brenda's visit goes in tune with the arrival of a brand new white couch, and the couple finds out the hard way that combining new couches and sad friends do not always work for the best. Also, the pair finds out that they bit off more than they can chew due to the extreme depression that Brenda is going through.

Brenda will be played by '3^rd Rock From The Sun' actress, Kristen Johnson.

Meanwhile, Jay and Gloria plan two parties separately, and the two try to convince each other to attend to their respective shindigs. Jay thinks of ways to try to get himself out of Gloria's party, and fails to remember Manny's conniving ways that can screw up his plan.

Alex makes an announcement that shocked Phil and Claire, and that is having a new boyfriend. Because Alex is known to be an introvert, Phil and Claire thinks that Alex might be making up an imaginary boyfriend.
