The upcoming episode of "Modern Family" season 8 will see Phil (Ty Burrell), Gloria (Sofia Vergara), and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) joining together to form a secret group, in order to hide something from their respective spouses.

The synopsis for the eighth episode, titled "The Alliance," reveals that Phil, Gloria, and Cam will do wrong against their respective spouses, Claire (Julie Bowen), Jay (Ed O'Neill), and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). As a result, they form a secret alliance to make sure that their respective mistakes don't get discovered. However, things will go awry for the trio when Mitchell begins to suspect something at the Tucker-Pritchett residence.

Meanwhile, Haley (Sarah Hyland) will try to spend time with Rainer Shine's (Nathan Fillion) teen daughter by orchestrating a girls' day. But the day won't exactly go as planned when Haley finds out that Rainer's daughter is filled with teen angst. 

Finally, Luke (Nolan Gould) will spend time at the club and put himself in an embarrassing position with a widow (Joely Fisher), as well as unintentionally help Jay with the petition he started.

Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode, titled "Thanksgiving Jamboree."

The whole family spent the holiday at Mitch and Cam's place, which the latter decked out in country decorations that was complete with a petting zoo. Mitch kept a secret from Cam — that he accidentally disposed of his Fizbo costume — but eventually told him. As a result, Cam also told Mitch that he had used their vacation money, in order to throw the Thanksgiving shindig. 

Haley and Rainer had started dating, much to Phil's dismay. But it got even worse when Haley told her father that she was spending the next day with Rainer at a resort in Cabo, which meant that she wouldn't make it to their family tradition of watching the game the day after Thanksgiving. In the end, though, Haley and Rainer ended up staying for the game instead of vacationing in Cabo.

"Modern Family" season 8 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on ABC.
