"Mortal Kombat X" has received its fair share of DLC additions ever since it was first launched, and it looks like it may be getting even more new content very soon.

The Twitter account of "Mortal Kombat" co-creator and NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon has been monitored closely by fans recently, as it seems as though he is teasing something of great significance related to the currently available fighting game.

Just a few days ago, Boon replied to a fan complimenting the upcoming NetherRealm Studios-developed title "Injustice 2." Boon thanked the fan for the kind words, then added "some people think Injustice 2 killed MKXL Kombat Pack 3."

Not long after that interesting exchange, Boon sent out another tweet revealing that more news about "Mortal Kombat X" would be coming soon, though he did not say exactly when the new information would be shared or what it would be about. Curiously though, the tweet did feature some oddly capitalized letters that spell out "EVO."

Some fans have interpreted the odd composition of the tweet to mean that the upcoming announcement related to the game would be made at the upcoming EVO 2016 event which is set to start in Las Vegas on July 15.

While Boon has not directly mentioned that the upcoming revelation will be about "Mortal Kombat X" getting a third "Kombat Pack," more than a few fans are certainly hoping that's the case. Some fans have even shared who they would like to see in a potential "Kombat Pack 3," with popular suggestions including Jade and Noob.

The previous "Kombat Packs" have featured guest characters, so there's a chance that a newly announced DLC pack may include a fighter who has not appeared in earlier "Mortal Kombat" titles.

More news about the big "Mortal Kombat X" reveal should be made available within the next few weeks.
