Moto Droid Turbo 2 news: Newest Motorola handset lands next month

Motorola is finally getting on point with their smartphone game this year. With the recent release of the Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto G 2015, the company is planning to finish off the year with a continuation to their Droid Turbo series.

According to Christian Today, the "Moto Droid Turbo 2" is on its way for release this October, however, the report speculates that the upcoming device will only be available to Verizon users first in the U.S. The report also claims that the device will be rebranded when it is released overseas, the "Moto Droid Turbo 2" will be called "Moto X Force" and will be slated for release in both the Chinese and European markets in December.

IB Times reports that the upcoming device will be bigger than its predecessor, boasting a 5.4-inch display with a Quad HD screen resolution. It is 2 inches more than its predecessor, which only had a 5.2 inch display. The new "Moto Droid Turbo 2" is also speculated to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and would at least have 3 GB of RAM.

GSM Arena points out that even if the screen display of the "Moto Droid Turbo 2" is smaller compared to the recently released Moto X Style and Moto X Play, both have a display of 5.5 inches and 5.7 inches, respectively. The "Droid Turbo 2" has more battery power at 3760 mAh.

As for the camera, the new "Moto Droid Turbo 2" is speculated to carry a 21-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The new smartphone will also come in two variants when it comes to storage, one coming in at 32 GB and another at 64 GB.

Motorola has neither confirmed nor denied any speculations about the upcoming "Moto Droid Turbo 2." Fans would need to wait until October to learn more details.
