Motorola readies for the big holiday battle as it unveils its latest flagship smartphone Moto X 2014 (X2) with wood finishes.

"Sometimes, even in the technology industry, the best inspiration comes straight from nature. We recently introduced Moto X with Bamboo, the first-ever smartphone incorporating real bamboo into the body. Since then we've been hard at work crafting new options, and are excited to announce three new natural wood finishes for Moto X: Walnut, Teak and Ebony," the official Motorola Blog writes.

"Choose to be unique" is the battlecry of the new Moto X 2014 with different accents, hues and material to cherry-pick from.

The latest Motorola smartphone sports a curved metal frame, 5.2-inch screen with 423 pixels per inch and 1080p OLED display, 13 MP rear-facing camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 4K UHD video capture, front facing speaker and 2300 mAh battery.

Moto X is powered by Android 4.4.4 KitKat with 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and 2 GB RAM.

It also embodies the "smart" in smartphone as it adapts to user's needs rather than the other way around.

"A simple wave of your hand silences calls or snoozes alarms. And even when your phone is asleep, it displays notifications and updates without disrupting what you're doing," a parcel of the product description reads.

The off-contract Pure Edition model retails for $499.99. Preordering through AT&T will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Aside from Moto X 2014, an array of products is coming out of Motorola's turf.
