The days of the Moto X-branded flagships may be done, as they are now reportedly set to be given the new branding of Moto Z.

According to a recent report from Venture Beat, the branding shift can already be seen in some marketing materials.

There will also reportedly be two different devices that are set to be released under the new Moto Z branding, with one being known as the Moto Z Play while the other will reportedly be named Moto Z Style.

Prior to the news about the branding change, Venture Beat also published an earlier report detailing some of the specs and features of the upcoming devices.

Starting off with the Moto Z Play, a device also previously given the codename Vertex, this particular smartphone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 625 chip, as well as a 16 megapixel camera.

The Vertex is also expected to offer varying memory capacities, with one configuration providing 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the other features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

As for the Moto Z Style, which has reportedly been given the codename Vector Thin, this particular device is expected to feature the Snapdragon 820 chip along with a 13 megapixel camera.

When it comes to memory, the Vector Thin is expected to provide either 3GB or 4GB of RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage.

Both devices are also expected to provide support for new modular attachments known as Amps. These Amps will also reportedly serve as more than just mere aesthetic additions as they may also be adding new features to the devices.

The new devices have yet to be given official release dates, though as Droid Life reported, they may show up at the upcoming Lenovo Tech World event that is set for June 9.

More news about the Moto Z devices should be made available in the near future.
