A new leak seems to suggest that the eagerly anticipated and still-not-yet official Moto Z may be set to make its official debut on June 9.

The details of the rumored smartphone's launch date can be seen in a new image that appears to be some kind of promotional graphic for the still unofficial device.

The leaked image is still up online and can be seen in this post from the Google page of "hellomotoHK."

Along with a possible launch date for the new smartphone, the image also seems to suggest that the official unveiling will take place during an event that will be held in San Francisco, California.

Considering the date and the location, that could very well mean that the new smartphones will be unveiled at Lenovo's upcoming Tech World event, as was previously reported by Droid Life.

In addition to the new leak that may have already revealed when exactly the rumored smartphones will make their official debut, another recent report hints that the previously Moto X branding may truly be going away for good.

Recently, a new trademark filing seemingly indicates that Motorola is already staking their claim to the Moto Z name.

Droid Life shared a screenshot of the filing for the aforementioned trademark, and it does indicate that the name is now owned by Motorola Trademark Holdings.

The move to trademark the new brand shouldn't come as any surprise to those who have been following the development of the rumored smartphones closely.

An earlier report from Venture Beat had previously revealed that Motorola was indeed ditching the Moto X brand for the new Moto Z name, and the trademark filing seems to simply confirm that.

Still, Motorola has yet to issue any official statement regarding the status of their new flagship devices, so the branding shift is still unconfirmed for now.

Additional details regarding the rumored Moto Z smartphones should be made available within the next few weeks.
