There were a lot of rumors in the months preceding yesterday's launch of the new phones from Motorola, that the company was creating two versions of its main flagship phone.

And yesterday, when the official announcements for the devices were made, the rumors turned out to be true with Motorola revealing three major phones: the Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto G third generation along with a Moto X Style Pure Edition.

As for the availability of the devices, the Moto G is already available in various countries while the Moto X Style and the Moto X Play are due to be released in September and August, respectively. Also, for the first time, all devices, including the Moto X Style Pure Edition, can be customized on the Moto Maker website.

The website enables users to select from different materials ranging from plastic to leather and even silicone in a variety of colors. These options allow for the customization of the back and front panels of the phone, as well as the accents.

Motorola, which is currently owned by Lenovo, stated that the Moto G is the best budget phone in the world and they hope that the ability to customize the device would bring in more customers especially in developing countries like Brazil and India.

The Moto G comes with a Snapdragon 410 chipset and a quad core CPU and a display measuring 5 inches. There are going to be two versions of the device, one with 2 GB of RAM and another with 1 GB.

As for the Moto X Style, this year's main flagship from Motorola, it comes with a 5.7-inch display and the best specs among the trio. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and a hexa-core CPU.

While there is still no information as to when customers in the US will get to get their hands on this device, the Moto X Style Pure Edition, which has the same specs, will go on sale directly through retailers for $399. The pure edition will have a stock Android version and no skin layered on top. It also has the ability to run on any carrier.

As for the Moto X Play, it is a variant of the X Style which has a smaller 5.5-inch display a bigger battery capacity. It is also expected to be cheaper than the flagship device.
