USA's newest hit series, "Mr. Robot," ended its pilot season merely two days ago and unsurprisingly, fans are still reeling from the very explosive finale. Fortunately for them, there is no longer a question of a season two as even before the season one premiere aired, the drama-thriller was already renewed for one more 10-episode run. And according to the series' showrunner himself, he could see "Mr. Robot" running for a few more seasons.

After the broadcast of "Mr. Roboto" season 1 episode 10, Sam Esmail, showrunner of the program, who was recently thrust into the spotlight with his 2014 directorial debut, "Comet," spoke with Variety to discuss the show's finale and its future. During the interview, the 37-year-old New Jersey native explained how he intended the show to be a film and as such, he already knows the big plot points and of course, the ending.

"I initially thought of this as a feature, so I knew how it was all going to unfold. I don't know every detail, I don't pretend to, but I certainly know the big plot points ahead, and also know the series ending, if we're lucky enough to get that far. I'm definitely thinking it's either four or five seasons."

Elsewhere, lead actor and probably 2015's breakout star, Rami Malek, also sat down with Variety to chime in on where he thinks his character would be come season two. The actor, who has starred in several feature films including "Larry Crowne and "Night at the Musem," revealed that he is excited to see his character, Elliot, develop over the course of the emotional rollercoaster of a life the writers have subjected him to.

"I'm interested to see how he evolves, how he faces life with all this devastating knowledge, how he carries himself, if he can get through it. How he's going to get through it is going to be a major test for this young man. And as an actor I'm going to be challenged by it."

"Mr. Robot" season two is expected to premiere on USA next year.
