'Mr. Robot' season 2 spoilers: Tyrell Wellick blamed for fsociety hack; Rami Malek teases Elliot's plan to remove Mr. Robot from his world

(Facebook/WhoIsMrRobot)Fsociety hack is being blamed on Tyrell Wellick.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is just around the corner, and a new trailer for the upcoming season gives a clearer picture of the fallout from the hack. It also teases a big fight looming between Mr. Robot and Elliot.

The Hollywood Reporter recently gave its readers an exclusive look at "Mr. Robot's" latest season via a new and longer trailer.

The trailer begins with a shot of Elliot (Rami Malek), followed by scenes of Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) talking to him and convincing him to join the biggest revolution the world has ever witnessed. Tyrell Merrick (Martin Wallstrom) is then shown as he asks Elliot why he did it. The young man replies that he wanted to save the world. This is followed by a news report showing President Obama blaming Wellick for the hack, along with scenes of the hack's fallout.

Wellick becoming the fall guy for the hack and being pinpointed as the leader of fsociety was a brilliant move. After all, Wellick's hacking skills seem to be at par with Elliot's and his disappearance is certainly convenient. While the rest of the world might think he's hiding, it's possible that the suave hacker is actually dead. Could Elliot have killed him?

The new featurette also showcases interviews of Sam Esmail and his stars. The director is unusually chatty in the trailer, as he reveals that season 2 will pick up 30 days after the hack, which has been dubbed as the five/nine hack. He also talks about the risks the show is taking next season.

"We kind of press the gas pedal down really hard," was how Esmail described it.

Malek shares that Elliot's knowledge of who Mr. Robot is has changed his agenda, as "what he's trying to do, at all cost, is to remove him from his world." As for "Mr. Robot" himself, Slater hinted that season 2 "will go to some dark places" as the series reveals more of Elliot's steadily fracturing psyche.

Aside from the interviews, the clip also shows scenes from the upcoming season. Fans will undoubtedly be shocked at the shots of Mr. Robot becoming violent, with Elliot's manifestation of his dead father even pointing a gun at his head and apparently shooting him.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 will return to the USA Network on July 13 at 10 p.m.
