'Mr. Robot' season 3 spoilers: Elliot to be fully consumed by his hallucinations?

(Facebook/WhoIsMrRobot)Elliot continues battle with his illness in the next season of "Mr. Robot."

Elliot's (Rami Malek) mental disorder may worsen in the upcoming season of "Mr. Robot." Will he ever distinguish which is reality and which is not in the USA series?

According to Game N Guide, there is a huge chance that Elliot's sufferings due to his hallucinations will continue in the new installment. Viewers of the show have come to expect that not everything that the hacker sees is essentially true. The first revelation was when Edward (Christian Slater) was disclosed to be a figment of his imagination. Since Elliot is an unreliable narrator, some of the fans even had trouble believing that Tyrell (Martin Wallstrom) was really alive.

During last season's finale, E Corp's former employee showed up and led the hacker to the Dark Army's secret headquarters. There, he revealed that they have been working on the second phase of the operation against the corporation. Previously, Elliot saw Tyrell's body wedged in the cramped space of a car's trunk. Edward also told him that the other man was dead and that they killed him. Elliot believed that he was hallucinating until Tyrell shot him in the chest.

Elliot's mental illness will continue to be a huge part of season 3, but executive producer Sam Esmail revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that there is more to look forward to on the young hacker. According to him, the Elliot that the viewers will see will not be the same weak man they have come to know. The hacker is bound to find out that even those he loves will betray him. What will he do once he discovers that Angela (Portia Doubleday) has joined the Dark Army?

"Season three, and the way I've been thinking about it, is sort of the return to Elliot — but not the naive Elliot we saw at the beginning of the season. It's the Elliot we've seen go through this horrific experience from the first and second seasons, and with all of that in mind, that's going to make this new Elliot come into fruition in the next season," the EP said in the THR interview.

"Mr. Robot" season 3 is expected to premiere in 2017.
