'Narcos' season 3 news, cast updates: 4 new characters to shake up Cali-centric season

(Narcos / Facebook)"Narcos" season 3 will feature the arrival of four new characters following Pablo's tragic death

Now that Wagner Moura's Pablo Escobar is out of the picture and Colombia is supposed to be drug-free, "Narcos" season 3 will reveal that Pablo's death is just the beginning as four new characters have been added to the cast.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Michael Stahl-David will be joining the cast of "Narcos" season 3 as Chris Feistl, who is one of the DEA agents to be sent to Colombia to fix America's attention on the growing reach of the Cali Cartel following the death of Colombia's greatest drug lord.

Matt Whelan will also be joining the cast as another series regular. Whelan will take on the role of Daniel Van Ness, Feistl's partner. Though not much is known about Van Ness just yet, fans can expect more revelations to come in the next months.

There's also Arturo Castro, who will portray William Rodriguez, the eldest son of Francisco Denis' Miguel Rodriguez. According to /Film, William will play a major role in "Narcos" season 3 as he will have to take over the reins from his dad and his uncle, Damian Alcazar's Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela, after the two are arrested. Is William the reason for the Cali Cartel's fall just two years after Pablo's passing?

Finally, Kerry Bishé will be joining the cast as Christina, whose husband will be deeply involved in the Cali Cartel's movements. Christina may also be one of the reasons for the cartel's great fall as she will resort to seeking help from the U.S. Embassy after she starts seeing the troubles that her family and loved ones are experiencing for being related to a member of the Colombian drug trade.

It would be interesting to see how these four new faces will contribute to the rise and fall of the Calis, which will be strongly featured in "Narcos" season 3. As early as now, fans can assume that these new characters will have very crucial roles to play in the exciting stories that the show has to tell.

Netflix has yet to announce an official premiere date for "Narcos" season 3 but it is expected to start airing sometime 2017.
