Fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming 'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm' are in for a treat after a magazine article revealed new details about the game. The feature article was published in the Japanese magazine Vjump and was later was translated and featured in an article at Shonengamez.

Based on the article, the developers of the game are hard at work in creating an authentic ninja-like atmosphere for the game. The tagline "Experience the power of an ultimate ninja" along with the revealed gameplay mechanics are among the most interesting revelations from the article.

One of the more exciting features discussed in the article is the ability to run and jump along various terrain, such as mountain cliffs and high-rise buildings. This gameplay mechanic will likely play out in a similar manner to the fight choreography found in many Hong Kong action movies that make extensive use of wires. Expect a lot of gravity defying moves from the Naruto characters themselves to take advantage of this mechanic.

In addition to the gravity distortion, another gameplay feature involves some form of ninja speed. While exact details were not revealed, it appears that the characters in the game will be able to move and fight in vastly different speeds – quite fitting given that ninjas are known for their agility. While this feature seems fun, it will most likely be limited in some form, perhaps by a speed meter of some kind.

Finally, players will also be able to interact with the battlefield and the enemy's clothing to create a more realistic battle scene. This type of mechanic has already been used in other games so it should be interesting to see if 'Naruto 4' will offer its own innovation in this particular instance. A few images from the preview utilize what appears to be a fish-lens effect, so that looks to be an addition that will allow the new gameplay mechanics to be showcased better.

No exact release date has been revealed, but the game is expected to release sometime this year.
