Kevin Durant is widely regarded as the most coveted free agent in the market this summer, so much so that two of the NBA's signature franchises may not even be able to secure face-to-face meetings with the star swingman.

As of now, six teams have reportedly managed to secure meetings with the former league MVP, and that list includes the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, according to a recent report from ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Notably, the Knicks and Lakers aren't on that list, even though they are located in two of the country's biggest markets and are also very interested in acquiring the young superstar.

For what it's worth, it looks like both teams are doing what they can to also secure meetings with Durant, but that they apparently haven't landed those at this point could be indicative of their place in the race to sign the market's top free agent.

If Durant really isn't warming up to the idea of signing with either the Knicks or the Lakers, then that could signify what he values most in the team he signs with.

Both the Lakers and Knicks have struggled greatly in recent seasons, and while the two teams have intriguing young players who can turn into superstars down the road, Durant may not want to wait that long for them to develop.

It's telling that the teams that have reportedly landed meetings with Durant are all playoff teams, with the Spurs and Warriors even winning NBA championships in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

If the primary consideration for Durant in this free agency process is the ability of the team he signs with to help him win a title, then the Knicks and the Lakers really may stay on the outside looking in.

Durant will make his decision soon enough and at this point, it seems like the Lakers and Knicks may be longshots at best to land the star swingman.
