Derrick Rose's future in Chicago remains uncertain, to say the least, and that may lead to a trade potentially taking place sometime during the course of the upcoming offseason.

While Rose was an integral part of the Chicago Bulls throughout the early part of his NBA career, even winning the MVP award in 2011, devastating injuries have since sapped the point guard of his otherworldly athleticism.

Still, Rose showed off flashes of his former self over the course of the 2015-16 NBA season, and his averages for the year, though not at the same heights as his pre-injury numbers, were still representative of a solid guard.

Those decent numbers could make him an intriguing option to consider for other teams, particularly those lacking the means to land a good point guard either through the draft or free agency.

As Hoops Rumors noted, the Indiana Pacers could take a look at a potential trade for Rose, especially with incumbent point guard George Hill approaching 30 and unrestricted free agency.

If not the Pacers, then another Eastern Conference team could also be interested in Derrick Rose.

Specifically, the New York Knicks could be a landing spot for the former league MVP, especially with their current roster offering little in the way of a long-term solution for the position.

For now, the Knicks are entrusting point guard duties to veteran Jose Calderon and the young Jerian Grant. While Grant could still blossom to become a starting caliber point guard, the Knicks may not have the luxury of waiting for that to happen, especially with their recent run of disappointing seasons.

Rose could provide the team with some stability at the position, along with the chance that he can still regain his past form.

At the moment, Derrick Rose is still a member of the Chicago Bulls, and while he is by no means guaranteed to be traded this offseason, at least a few teams may be able to benefit from acquiring the services of the former league MVP.
