The next flagship from Google, the Nexus 5, is expected to be launched sometime this year, as rumors suggest.

Google normally releases their next Nexus smartphone by fourth quarter of the year, BGR reports. However, the source from Geek Snack states that this will be a joint launch between the latest Nexus 5 2015 (assuming it is in fact called the Nexus 5 2015) and the Android M operating system, which is why some people are expecting its release date to be much sooner than anticipated.

As for the Android M's release date, Tech Radar reports that the new OS is set to launch in the third quarter of 2015, possibly around September. If the launch will indeed be joined by Google, then the Nexus 5 2015 will also be released around the same time.

Nexus 5 2015 specs

There has been no official announcement about the specs of the Nexus 5 2015 but Geek Snack claims that the next smartphone will be more of a powerhouse than a beautiful gadget.

The Nexus 5 2015 will reportedly have a screen display of 5-inch with a resolution of FHD 1920 x 1080, although there is also a big possibility of a QHD display.

The next flagship will most likely receive the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with the upcoming Android M operating system, of course. The smartphone will come with 3 GB of RAM and two options for internal storage, the 64GB and the 128GB. It will also feature a wireless charging system and offer the fast charging feature.

As for the camera, the Nexus 5 2015, will reportedly have a 16 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 5 megapixel front camera with a wide-angle lens. Aside from these, the new Google device's body will be made to be more durable. As reported on Geek Snack, the body's casing will be covered by some sort of resistant carbon fiber, probably to make the device more resistant to everyday accidents.
