Many questions still remain unanswered about the new console from Nintendo, the Nintendo NX, which is due to release next year in March. In the latest news about it, there have been hints that the console has remained under wraps because it has a big idea onboard and it could be copied by other companies.

News about the new console arrived from within the company, when Shigeru Miyamoto, a designer who worked on the Mario and Zelda games, stated that it was deliberately not showcased during the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). He went on to say in an interview with AP that the console held a big idea and Nintendo feared that other companies would copy it in their own offerings. Also, there are indications that the upcoming Nintendo NX is going to be a significant departure from the last console that the company created, the Wii U.

Miyamoto also indicated that if they were just "following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker." This is another indication that the upcoming Nintendo NX is going to be different from the Wii U, which did not do very well in terms of sales since it was released. Nintendo had previously tried something different with the release of motion controllers for the Wii.

However, as soon as Miyamoto's comments were picked up and reported on, analysts were pointing out that the big idea in the upcoming Nintendo NX would be linked to virtual reality or augmented reality. Nintendo already has an augmented reality game for mobile devices in the form of the "Pokemon Go" so it could be following the same route with the Nintendo NX.

As for the release of the Nintendo NX, there have been a number of rumors which state that if the console was indeed releasing in March 2017, it would have been showcased by now. Analysts have pointed to this and stated that this could mean that it has been delayed and the same fate could be in store for the Sony PS4 Neo, which also has not been seen so far.
