Nintendo developer and "Super Mario" franchise director, Takashi Tezuka, has recently expressed his high hopes for the famous Italian plumber in retaining his role as the face of Nintendo, even after the mysterious and highly rumored console Nintendo NX gets released.

During Tezuka's interview with GamesMaster via Go Nintendo, the franchise director has described this amazing success as miraculous considering that, the character has been with gamers for 30 years now.

"That Mario has been loved so much up to this point is nothing short of miraculous, although obviously this is in part the result of the untold work of multitudes of people, not limited to just the developers at Nintendo," game director Tezuka told GamesMaster. "It's impossible for me to imagine what Mario will go on to become in the future, so I am very excited to find out. However, I do hope that even after 30 more years, Mario continues to be Nintendo's lead videogame character."

Many fans might agree though that "Super Mario" will always have a place in Nintendo even in the coming years ahead and even of course, when the company launches their next-gen console Nintendo NX, which up until now, still has no update or details released.

Nothing much has been officially confirmed yet in terms of the details for Nintendo NX but on our previous report, rumor has it that the company and AMD are teaming up in developing the console and could also sport in a processor made by the manufacturer.

The CPU and GPU manufacturing company, AMD, had dropped some valuable hints which might possibly point out to the potential release date of Nintendo NX and as said there, the next-gen console is speculated to be available in stores sometime next year, 2016.

However, since there are no updates yet coming from the company regarding the Nintendo NX release date or specifications, it's best for fans to keep an open-mind for now, take the rumors with a pinch of salt and wait for further announcements.
