Is Nintendo developing a different portable console besides the NX?

A new rumor that's made its way online recently suggests that Nintendo may be working on a different portable console apart from the already confirmed NX.

Word about the portable console apparently came from a Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley investor note, and it even provided a codename for the rumored device, "MH," as reported by NDTV

The investor note also identified the NX as Nintendo's home console.

While Nintendo fans may already be getting excited at the prospect of possibly getting two new consoles, apparently, the contents of the investor note are far from being any kind of concrete confirmation.

Not long after the contents of the investor note began to make news online, noted industry expert Dr. Serkan Toto took to Twitter to clarify some of the confusion surrounding them.

According to the analyst, the contents of the note are more representative of '"forward-looking analysis" and that the author or authors of it may have simply been "picturing a scenario."

Lastly, Serkan Toto also revealed that the analysts behind the note themselves have indicated that they are simply projecting, meaning that the MH console that was mentioned may not be an actual thing, or at least not for now.

The good news is that even if the MH may not be in Nintendo's current plans, fans already know that they are getting at least one new console in the form of the NX.

Nintendo has previously announced that the new console is set to be launched in March of next year, though there's a chance that folks can get a look at it as early as this coming fall.

According to a recent report from VR World, the new console "should be announced during Tokyo Game Show 2016."

Nintendo has not confirmed that the NX will indeed make an appearance at the upcoming September event, though it's likely that more details about it will be made available at some point prior to the expected launch in March.

More news about Nintendo and its consoles should be made available in the near future.
