There is a lot of excitement for Nintendo's new console called the Nintendo Switch as fans are anticipating a lot of new features.

However, those who currently have Nintendo consoles such as the Wii U and 3DS will be somewhat unhappy to hear that they are expected to get new cartridges for the device. Reports indicate that the Nintendo Switch will not have a physical backwards compatibility feature. With that, gamers will not be able to play their current Wii U and 3DS games on the upcoming console.

Meanwhile, there has yet to be any news regarding the Switch's digital capabilities. When asked about a backwards compatibility feature and other hardware-related topics, according to IGN, a Nintendo representative said the company has "nothing to announce on this topic" so far but they "will make additional announcements about the Nintendo Switch hardware later, before the launch of the product."

Aside from that, there is a lot to look forward to regarding the Nintendo Switch. It was stated the device will come with detachable controllers that will enable a more functional approach to the gaming console. In addition, it can be used as a tablet and has the ability to be linked to a television.

Other reports also speculated from filed patents that the device will have many input and output methods. The device will have a touch panel as well as a vibration motor. A microphone, speaker as well as a camera will also be included on the console.

Fans can also expect a light-emitting distance sensor that can detect motion, as well as shapes and gestures. This will allow for images to be displayed on the player's screen. As a result, many are excited to see some gesture detection in the upcoming controllers of the Nintendo Switch.

With that, there is a lot of excitement for the Nintendo Switch as it will surely bring some exciting options for gameplay. It was also teased that there will surely be more surprises in store for Nintendo fans as more news regarding the device will be released.
