Nissan Altima 2016 news: Mid-size sedan coming November

Last Sept. 22, Nissan published an official announcement regarding the upcoming release of its latest Altima model. In the statement, Pierre Loing, Nissan North America's vice president for product planning, has revealed that their Altima line has increased in profits by as much as 60 percent since 2009 and as such, they are hopeful that the 2016 model would follow suit.

He said, "While so much attention in the marketplace currently is focused on compact SUVs like our redesigned Nissan Rogue, the mid-size sedan segment remains strong and has become extremely competitive. We're determined to keep our sales growth alive with this vibrant new Altima for 2016."

He further explained that while the more current versions of the Altima are without a doubt top of the line, they have spared no expense in making the upcoming automobile what consumers have long wanted.

"The enhancements were made with input from our customers – a quieter ride, so we added extensive noise isolation features such as an acoustic-glass windshield," he explained. "They wanted more standard features, a more responsive driving feel and more personal style – check, check and check. This new Altima is the most dynamic, comfortable and best-equipped mid-size sedan we've ever built."

The Japanese multinational manufacturer first released the Altima more than 20 years ago, in 1992. Since its debut, the mid-sized sedan line has gained a steady following of devoted enthusiasts who widely regard the automobile for its usability and practical design. It has consistently been ranked as Nissan's top selling unit and has been a part of the highest grossing sales for mid-size cars in the U.S. across all brands together with Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Because of the success of all five generations of the Altima, it comes as no surprise that Nissan is producing the 2016 Altima model.

Nissan has yet to make a formal announcement as to when the 2016 Altima will hit the market, but the car is expected to be available before the end of November.
