'No Man's Sky' news and updates: Tweet reveals Hello Games working on an update; game hits abysmal ratings on Steam

(Facebook/NoMansSky)A recent tweet revealed that the Hello Games team are working on a patch for the game.

"No Man's Sky" had been hammered with complaints almost immediately after its release. Hopefully, a new patch and new features will help tide the steam of ill-will against the game.

Things have been very quiet in the "No Man's Sky" front. Hello Games founder Sean Murray has not sent any new tweets or updates in weeks. There has also been no form of communication at all from the game studio.

While neither Murray or the game studio is required to update gamers, it is still seen as a strange move. It is also counterproductive, especially now that "No Man's Sky" is being buried by negative reviews.

There is a little ray of hope, though, and it came in the form of "No Man's Sky's" audio head, Paul Weir. In response to one fan's worried tweet about the game and Murray, the sound designer said that "Sean is fine and we're all busy on the next patch." But when asked about the silence emanating from Hello Games and Murray, Weir simply said that he has "nothing useful to say."

Weir's message might not be particularly helpful for a lot of gamers, but it does give the people behind "No Man's Sky" a reprieve and a golden opportunity to gain everything that they have lost. Hello Games should capitalize on this by pushing out a major patch that will hopefully address most of the problems in the game. As for Murray, a simple tweet or update would probably go a long way in pacifying some of the anger that millions of gamers have felt since the game was released.

Of course, the key word here is "probably." As it stands, "No Man's Sky" now has an abysmal standing on Steam. Players who peruse the game distributor's library often see two scores present for a particular game — the average score and the overall one — and according to reports, "No Man's Sky" has a "mostly negative" rating, probably due to the deadly combination of technical issues, missing features, monotonous gameplay, and a disappointing ending.

"No Man's Sky's" unique gameplay and premise are what propelled the game into being the most-anticipated game of the year. While it has admittedly fallen short on what it has promised, the upcoming patches and updates will hopefully make the game more worthwhile.
