NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 & 1050 Ti news: Quality performance at an affordable price

(Facebook/NVIDIA)NVIDIA recently released the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti.

NVIDIA has already launched the GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti, and reviews have started pouring in. But what exactly sets these two new graphics cards apart from the rest of the NVIDIA lineup and its competitors?

According to PCWorld, the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are quite different from the other 10-series cards, not only in terms of price but also in terms of quality. Granted, the lower-end GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are more affordable to the general public, coming in at $109 and $139, respectively. However, one has to wonder if these two graphics cards are worth it.

Apparently, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti offer good performance at a low power consumption and reasonable price. Both cards only consume 75 watts of power, bringing them at par with the GTX 750 Ti. Made by a different manufacturer than the 1060, 1070, and 1080, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti don't reach the same level of performance as the aforementioned cards, but they still pack a whole lot of punch.

While other NVIDIA cards are able to reach a boost clock of 1,700 MHz or above at a 1,500 base clock, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti do not. The GTX 1050 has a base clock of 1,354 MHz and a boosted clock of 1,455 MHz. On the other hand, the GTX 1050 Ti has a base clock of 1,290 MHz and boosts up to 1,392 MHz. The GTX 1050 has 2 GB of memory capacity, while the 1050 Ti has 4 GB. Both cards have 7 Gbps of memory data rate.

Their low power requirement is certainly an attractive feature, especially with their specifications and budget price. NVIDIA's latest entries can also be plugged into pre-built PCs, which means any starter in the gaming community can utilize these cards.

The GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti's specs, coupled with their affordable price range, are definitely worthy contenders against AMD's Radeon series. NVIDIA launched the graphics cards back in Oct. 25.
