A new leak is finally giving eager gamers their possible first look at the specs of the NVIDIA GTX 1060.

The new leak coming courtesy of Videocardz hints that while the upcoming graphics card may not feature the same eye-popping specs as the GTX 1080 and the GTX 1070, it can still compare favorably in some respects to another close competitor.

As the website noted, the leaked slides containing the possible specs of the GTX 1060 seem to indicate that it can perform better than AMD's Radeon RX 480. The GTX 1060 is also expected to be more energy efficient.

What remains unclear though is whether the NVIDIA GTX 1060 will be able to rival the Radeon RX 480 in terms of its price point.

Gamers looking to upgrade their PCs can purchase the 4GB variant of the RX 480 for $199 or fork over a little extra cash to get the 8GB model that is available for $239.

As of now, it still remains to be seen just how much the GTX 1060 may cost and whether it will be in the same ballpark as the recently released Radeon RX 480.

The good news is that gamers may not have to wait for that much longer before they can find out about the exact specs and even the possible price of the NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics card.

A recent report from WCCF Tech indicated that NVIDIA will launch the new Pascal architecture-based graphics card on July 7 during an event that will be taking place in Southbank, Melbourne, Australia.

The invite NVIDIA has sent out for the event does not specifically mention that a product launch will be taking place, though that does not necessarily rule out the possibility as well.

More news about the NVIDIA GTX 1060 as well as its other possible specs, features and price should be made available in the near future.
