NYC New Year's Eve 2015 events: Parties and countdowns in New York on the last day of 2014

New Year's Eve, aside from a night of welcoming the New Year, is almost synonymous to parties and street countdowns. Here are some events that will go down in New York City on the eve of 2015.

Grammy award-winner Elton John will give a special performance at the Barclays Center, with an admission price of $85. John will perform at the center for the first time on New Year's Eve, with a show that will start at 9pm. For ticket details, visit barclayscenter.com.

Party animals will enjoy a show that will feature Skrillex and Diplo in Madison Square Garden, with electronic dance music playing just as the ball drops. The show will only admit those who are 18 years old and above, and ticket prices start at $70.

Musical quartet, The Barnstorm, promises a good time for a performance at the Hill Country Live in Brooklyn located at 345 Adams St. The band plays covers of classic rock, and the performance, which will start at 8pm, is free.

Party collective Dark Disco will host a night of dancing at Bed Stuy's Sugar Hill Supper Club, located at 609 to 615 DeKalb Ave., at Nostrand Ave. Tickets start at $20 to $40. New York club, Output, located at 74 Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg will host a 42-hour long New Year's Eve party which will offer dance and music. Admission starts at $80.

The Sweet Afton in Queens will host a party with an open bar that starts at 9 p.m., serving with hors d'oeuvres. The champagne will start flowing at midnight, for a fee of $70 per attendee. The profits will go to Concern Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

For those looking for a suit-and-tie event, White Street in Tribeca will host a New Year's Eve prix fixe which will start at 9 p.m. to midnight that costs $235 per person. The fee will include table-side oysters and lots of champagne.
