There have been a lot of negative comments about the Oculus Rift pricing that exceeded the expectation of gamers in the gaming community. These people have waited a long time to experience the new concept of video gaming and luckily, they will experience it with the first Oculus' Virtual Reality gaming console soon.

The official price was announced to be at $599.99, which, for some, is overwhelming. Since a lot of gamers are expecting the Rift to be laid out in the market ahead of HTC Vive and PlayStation VR, a lot have suggested that the company should consider a fair pricing. The result of the Rift's sales could play a huge role, after all, on how competitors will adapt to the market by putting their own price tags on their virtual reality gaming consoles. HTC and PlayStation are considered to be two of the biggest players in the virtual reality gaming business.

There was an online poll conducted on a social networking site about the device's retail price. Road to VR has posted the survey question, "Do you think the Oculus Rift price ($599) is too high?" The public has voiced out their opinions through online voting. The result was almost incredibly equal, with just a slight difference in percentages.

VR enthusiasts are surely hoping that HTC and PlayStation would play fairly and provide a much better price for the desirable VR gaming consoles.

Oculus Rift's competitors are still being held back in development and their release dates are still yet to be announced. According to alphr, Oculus Rift's speculated date of release will be sometime in April since the company has announced that they will start receiving pre-orders on Jan. 6. The pre-ordered devices will be shipped on March 28, which means the expected arrival could be sometime in April. If so, that month would likely be the best time to release the Oculus Rift to public retailers as well.
