(YouTube/ Otaku Time)The new episode could be the start of Luffy's quest to look for clues concerning the "One Piece."

When one thinks about topics concerning pirates, supernatural abilities, and animé, one title comes to mind, and that is "One Piece." The latest preview for the upcoming episode of the series teases that Luffy might be a step closer to becoming the king of the pirates, a dream he has always held on to.

In episode 768, Jack the Drought, the prominent member of the Beast Pirates, is trying to recover but then finds an article that he died already, which he ripped to shreds. Meanwhile, Momonosuke is revealed to be the heir of the daimyo of Kuri Kozuki Oden, causing the two rivaling rulers Inuarashi and Nekomamushi to strike a truce.

They all then proceed to the hidden cave inside the Whale Tree to meet Raizo, a ninja and retainer of the Kozuki family. Luffy and the others also make the trip there, excited to see the ninja in person. When they finally arrive at their destination, they were all shocked to see that the person they were hoping to meet were not who they had in their minds.

Episode 769 recalls the fact that Gold Roger, the former king of the pirates, has left behind the legendary treasure of the One Piece. Luffy then sees an opportunity on how to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming the next king. However, with a lot of rulers contesting over the treasure, it will prove to be a task like no other.

What will be interesting to see, though, is if Luffy will be teaming up with other rulers to hasten the search for what was defined as a red stone, which will eventually lead to the One Piece. A different angle could be the other rulers teaming up against Luffy, which may prove to be problematic for the crew.

The upcoming episode is dubbed as "The Red Stone! The Guide to 'One Piece.'" Tomohiro Nakayama is in charge of the screenplay, Katsumi Tokoro is the episode director and is responsible for the storyboard, while Shigefumi Shingaki will be the animation director.

"One Piece" episode 769 will be airing in Japan on Dec. 18.
