After it was speculated earlier that "One Punch Man" season 2 would arrive between this month and November, it is now suspected that the highly anticipated anime will not arrive earlier than 2017.

It was only last month when "One Punch Man" season 2 was confirmed. Prior to its confirmation, it was even thought that the series' season 2 may have already been canceled. Now that fans of the anime can rest assured that they'll see Saitama/One Punch Man one more time on the small screen, they may need to extend their patience a little more as "One Punch Man" season 2 is alleged not to be shown within the remaining months of 2016 but will be aired in 2017 instead.

Prior to the announcement of "One Punch Man" season 2, there are also rumors claiming that "One Punch Man" season 2 would arrive between the last week of October and early November. Allegedly, season 2 would debut after the English-dubbed version of the anime's season 1 concludes airing over Toonami, which is expected to happen around the aforementioned period.

As of this writing, though, Madhouse Entertainment has yet to make an official announcement as to when "One Punch Man" season 2 will exactly air. Hence, even if it is speculated that the anime will arrive early 2017, hope may not be lost at all for those who wish for "One Punch Man" season 2 to arrive within the year.

Meanwhile, apart from the rumors claiming that it's unlikely for "One Punch Man" season 2 will not air within the year, there are also numerous rumors pointing to what its plot will possibly be. However, there is no denying that one of the loudest plot rumors associated with "One Punch Man" season 2 is that the upcoming season will feature the return of Lord Boros, whom Saitama already defeated and killed in the previous season.

In fact, it is even said that the villain will rise from the grave as a much stronger version of himself and will give Saitama a fight he won't forget.

Will "One Punch Man" season 2 really arrive early 2017 and not later this year? Will Lord Boros really rise from the dead and avenge his death in the previous season?

No one outside Madhouse Entertainment really knows at this point in time.
