The OnePlus 3 has been a popular topic in the rumor mill, and with good cause, as its official launch may just be a few weeks away.

Recently, a new rumor that's been circulating online has given folks who've been waiting for the new smartphone a specific date to look forward to, that being June 14.

Twitter user "@krispitech" shared a screenshot of what looks to be a conversation taking place between an individual and a chat representative from OnePlus. After the individual asked about the launch of the new smartphone, the chat representative simply replied that it would be revealed on June 14 during the company's VR launch experience.

Earlier this year, in an interview with CNet, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei also revealed that the new smartphone is expected to launch near the end of the second quarter.

Aside from the new information pertaining to the potential launch date of the OnePlus 3, recent rumors have also put forth the possible specs of the new smartphone.

Over on Twitter, noted tipster Evan Blass revealed that the new smartphone would feature a 5.5 inch display, as well as a 16-megapixel rear camera. Blass also shared that the upcoming smartphone may feature the Snapdragon 820 chip, as well as 64 GB of internal storage.

The new bits of information coming from Blass line up with the information from an earlier leak that came courtesy of MyDrivers.

Interestingly enough, the earlier leak from MyDrivers hints at there being two variants of the new smartphone, and it would seem that the one Blass described was the higher-end offering, since the standard edition will reportedly provide 32 GB of internal storage.

One last thing, Blass also shared that the new smartphone would bring back the NFC feature after its predecessor, the OnePlus 2, dropped it.

More news about the OnePlus 3 should be made available in the very near future.
