Rumors about the OnePlus 5 still persist, with speculations even comparing its design and specs to Samsung S7 Edge and Xiaomi Mi Mix. This time, it is believed that it will be released in the second or third quarter of this year.

OnePlus may release its new flagship device before the last quarter starts. The Chinese smartphone company may launch OnePlus 5 in the coming months if the company's schedule of previous product launches is to be followed.

Ever since the first OnePlus flagship model came out, the company has never failed to release more. In fact, it has been noted by Know Your Mobile that the manufacturer has launched one gadget every year. If OnePlus continues to do so, then OnePlus 5 might roll out by the second or third quarter of 2017.

Enthusiasts have been looking forward to the next model as OnePlus has been offering smartphones with the same impressive specs and design but with a more affordable price. It is believed that the next-generation handset will have an improved performance and a more advanced software to boast.

It was previously reported that OnePlus 5 may look similar to the Samsung S7 Edge. However, with its ceramic covering, the upcoming OnePlus phone was compared to Xiaomi Mi Mix. There is also a rumor that the device will have a curved edge display, which is rumored to be the same with Samsung S8.

In an article by Gizbot, OnePlus 5 may feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED dual-curved display, coupled with an impressive 1080 pixel resolution. Since the current model already has 6 GB of RAM, it is anticipated that the upcoming model will have more than this. Two variants of the device are expected to be released — one with 64 GB of storage memory and another with 128 GB.

Contrary to the design rumors, some say that OnePlus 5 will feature an all-glass design with an IP68 certification, making it resistant to dust and water. This is somewhat comparable the rumors about the features of the iPhone 8.

OnePlus has not confirmed anything about the device yet, so the information presented here still has to be taken with a grain of salt.
