'Orange is the New Black' season 5 release date, spoilers: Lolly's rumored return; Soso commits suicide?

(Orange is the New Black / Twitter)'Orange is the New Black' season 4 returns on June 17.

Following the harrowing and heart-breaking events that closed "Orange is the New Black" season four, fans are now looking forward to the stories that the Litchfield inmates will tell in season five.

One of the most vital roles played in the previous installment was that of Lolly (Lori Petty). Not only was she able to help Alex (Laura Prepon) escape death but she helped her bury the prison guard's corpse, which, unfortunately, led to her being locked up in the psychiatric ward.

Lolly's role is important in the sense that she represents many inmates in the real world who are suffering from mental disorders while behind bars. Lolly is a paranoid schizophrenic and as much as viewers want to help her, there may be more drama for her when the new episodes arrive.

In a recent interview with Variety, Petty said of her character, "As it stands, [Lolly] didn't really do anything wrong, until she got to prison. She was in need of help and nobody helped her."

Though it has yet to be announced if Lolly will return to the hit show, she has become undeniably one of the most treasured names in "Orange is the New Black" and it would be a huge blow if her story isn't told in detail before she gets killed off or sent away somewhere for a long time.

When asked if she will return in season five, Petty replied, "It'd be my extreme joy to be back. I'm hoping that happens. They haven't started shooting yet, so I don't know."

Meanwhile, speculations are hot on the trail of Brook Soso (Kimiko Glenn), who was deeply affected by Poussey's (Samira Wiley) death. Bustle notes that it would be easy for Soso to blame herself for Poussey's death, which could also possibly result to her attempting suicide.

Soso found not only a lover but a true friend in Poussey. With her girlfriend gone and her depression striking, some believe she will pull the trigger on herself in "Orange is the New Black" season five.

The rumor has yet to be confirmed since Netflix is mum regarding the plot. It is also unclear how Soso will deal with life after Poussey's death but Glenn recently told The Hollywood Reporter that her character is "going to have a really tough time with it."

The premiere date of "Orange is the New Black" season five has yet to be announced.
