'Orange Is the New Black' season 5 spoilers: On deaths and revenge

(Facebook/Orange is the New Black)The women of "Orange Is the New Black" will continue to feel the weight of Poussey's death when the series returns for season 5.

The previous season of "Orange Is the New Black" ended with a shocking death and a cliffhanger that could lead to another death and revenge. Not much is known about the upcoming season 5, but some cast members have shared their views on the story and their characters moving forward.

Poussey (Samira Wiley) and Taystee's (Danielle Brooks) friendship is one of the most powerful ones in the series but, just like many relationships, their bond was put to test in season 3. Season 4 was a road for recovery for the two friends but, with the death of Poussey, Taystee will have to face the difficulty of life inside the cell without her best friend.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brooks revealed that for her character, "It's war. Taystee has nothing to lose, she's lost everything that she cared so deeply about. It's time to fight. I think — I don't know! — but I think that's where we will see Taystee go."

Many of the characters are presumably waiting to avenge the death of Poussey. Daya (Dascha Polanco) is close to doing that in the previous season's cliffhanger when she gets hold of Corrections Officer Thomas Humphrey's gun.

The question many are expecting to be answered during the premiere is whether she will fire the gun that is now pointed at Thomas. Polanco said, "The boiling point has tipped over. At this point, Daya is thinking, 'F – everyone. I'm going for it.'"

Polanco went on to describe Daya as being in a dark place even without Poussey's death. She said, "Dayanara's a victim of her circumstance. It's a cycle that keeps on repeating itself. She's been fighting it for so long and now there's no way of her fighting it."

"Orange Is the New Black" has started production and is expected to be shown in the second quarter of 2017.
