Production for "Outlander's" season 2 is in full swing, much to the excitement of its loyal fans who have also been treated to spoilers and some photos from the set. And based on what has been reported, it appears that Jamie Fraser will make an attempt to stop the Jacobite Rising and will meet his enemy, Black Jack, once more.

The second season of the British-American drama will be mining Diana Gabaldon's "Dragonfly in Amber." According to executive producer Ronald D. Moore, the upcoming season will have Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) attempting to change history to prevent the Highland culture from being destroyed.

The producer sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the series' very successful first season run and to give hints on what fans can expect next season. One thing Moore was quick to confirm was that Jamie's torture and assault at the hands of Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) will still be felt going into the second season.

"Outlander" season 2 will reportedly be set in two countries, France in the first half and Scotland in the latter half.

Aside from the challenges of bringing to life two distinct cultures and environments, Moore revealed that it was more challenging adapting "Dragonfly in Amber" for TV due to the novel's complex structure.

The EW interview also gave fans a glimpse at the life Jamie and Claire will be living in France.

Several more updates about the show came courtesy of Scotland Now, which had leaked images from the set, including that of Heughan and Menzies collaborating on some fight scenes, adding more fuel to the rumors that Black Jack will be returning next season.

The site also shared some information regarding the show's extended cast, which now includes Natalie Spence, Andrew Gower, Romann Berrux, Robert Cavanah and Stanley Weber.

Based on the eight-book series by Gabaldon, the phenomenal success of "Outlander" has earned it the moniker "Scotland's Game of Thrones."

There's no official release date set for "Outlander's" second season, but Moore  told fans via Twitter that it might be aired in March or April 2016.
