Although "Outlander" will return for a third season early in 2017, there have been so much talk about the storyline of the upcoming season.

Although the finale of season 2 saw the devastating separation of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), it looks like they will be meeting again. According to reports, Jamie and Claire are still very much in love with each other and will do anything they could just to be in each other's arms. Fans have expected their meeting as well since the book series that it is based on also revealed the pair's reunion.

Executive producer Maril Davis talked about the reunion. However, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, they are is still developing the part of the story where the two will be meeting again.

"You know what, we're still kind of figuring that out. We're mapping it out, but I feel like we will stay fairly consistent to the books," she said.

Davis also teased about Claire and her daughter Brianna's future next season. "We're talking about Claire's decision of whether or not to go back and there are still challenges there, so the door I think is still open for that. We purposefully at the end wanted Bree to believe her, but we still don't know whether or not Claire will want to go back and want to leave her child."

The upcoming season 3 will be based on the third book, titled "Voyager," of Diana Gabaldon's novel series. Based on the book, Jamie and Claire's reunion will force them to travel across the ocean to leave as far away from Scotland. Before their fated reunion, Jamie had to go through a lot of challenges until his meeting with an old friend that would help him put his life back on track. The new season will introduce the older version of Lord John Grey. He is expected to have a significant role in the upcoming installment, just like in the novel.
