'Outlander' season 3 spoilers: Jamie and Randall face off in the premiere

(Facebook/Outlander)The premiere will show the bloody Battle of Culloden in "Outlander" season 3.

The premiere episode of the new season of "Outlander" is going to be bloody, as the Battle of Culloden will be shown in its full glory.

As per IB Times, showrunner Ronald D. Moore has opted to change the opening scene to something that will satisfy the viewers' longing to see Jamie (Sam Heughan) take down Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) in the battlefield. In Diana Gabaldon's novel, "Voyager," on which the series is based on, the gory fight was not shown. Jamie woke up without having any memory of what happened. The change is reportedly to give the audience an exact picture of what will really take place in the moor. The promo photos released certainly show a fierce battle between the two warriors.

Meanwhile, Jamie and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) adopted kid, Fergus, has grown up. As per Entertainment Weekly, Romann Berrux will be replaced by César Domboy (The Walk) in playing the role of the French pickpocket who endeared himself to the Fraser family. Fergus has become a grown man and the ladies will swoon at his metamorphosis. He is no longer a cute little boy with quick hands and a charming personality. As per the official spoiler, he is quick to fall in love and is an ultimate romantic. Thankful for Jamie and Claire's taking him in, there is no way his loyalty to them will get swayed.

"Born into a brothel, Fergus has grown up into a charming, devilishly handsome man with a strong sense of loyalty and decorum, despite his unconventional upbringing. ... However, Fergus' devotion to Jamie has never wavered, making the Frenchman an integral part of the Fraser clan. Still, his debonair demeanor masks a longing for a lasting love and a permanent sense of belonging," the official Starz description reads.

"Outlander" season 3 will premiere on Starz in 2017.
