"Overwatch," the eagerly anticipated first-person shooter, currently has a roster of 21 heroes, though that number may be growing soon with the potential addition of at least one new character.

Rumors about the game's roster expanding have been making the rounds online for a while now and the potential addition even has a name - Sombra.

Over on NeoGAF, user "Nirolak" put together a comprehensive compilation detailing many of the instances wherein the mysterious character known as Sombra was referenced.

Sombra has apparently been mentioned within the game by some characters and pieces of artwork that could be depictions of her can also be spotted in some maps.

For what it's worth, the evidence does seem to suggest that Sombra is at the very least a part of the game's lore, though whether she becomes an actual part of the roster is still uncertain at this point.

While questions about Sombra potentially becoming a playable character inside "Overwatch" remain, Blizzard has previously indicated that they do have plans to expand the game's roster, meaning she could very well be one of those additions.

During an interview with Attack of the Fanboy back in April, assistant game director Aaron Keller talked about the DLC plans for "Overwatch."

According to Keller, there are plans to expand the game's roster post-launch and new maps may also be introduced as well.

Keller added that there is also a desire to make those pieces of post-launch DLC available for free to the players.

Sombra could become one of those new characters introduced to the game as free DLC, though with the developers yet to fully flesh out their post-launch plans, fans will have to wait and see just a bit longer to find out exactly who or what else they will be getting.

"Overwatch" will be playable on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
