The spine-chilling, nail-biting horror and thriller show "Penny Dreadful" can certainly give its viewers the goose bumps, as it takes them through the tale of Vanessa and Ethan. Season two premiered with a bang, with Vanessa plagued by disturbing images and Brona resurrected from the dead. However, things on the show are now heating up as it reaches its mid-season episode.

In episode 5 named "Above The Vaulted Sky", TVGuide's official synopsis states that evil Hecate returns to her mother with a gift. Moreover, Evelyn works on a new totem, which no doubt, is the voodoo puppet that she wants to use in order to bully Vanessa. Indeed, the promotional clip for the upcoming episode also depicts Evelyn sticking needles into the brain of a sinister puppet. It seems that this week, the malevolent Evelyn will be torturing Vanessa using the puppet. The clip shows the puppet harassing Vanessa; so fans should expect some macabre scenes.

To make matters worse, Sir Malcolm's mansion is attacked, leaving its occupants vulnerable to a supernatural invasion. Moreover, the creature becomes more impatient with Frankenstein. And why shouldn't he? Brona, now named Lily, was resurrected from the dead in order to be his bride. The plan worked initially until Victor succumbed to Brona's charms. Last episode clearly showed Victor falling for Brona as he along with Vanessa shopped for her clothes. This disturbing love triangle between the creature, Victor Frankenstein and Brona will continue throughout the season.

Rusk will interrogate Ethan about the massacre, while Vanessa's friendship with the creature deepens. Angelique is humiliated when she is out with Dorian. Hollywood Hills reports that Vanessa will be making a fetish. A sneak peek video also reveals that Ethan comforts Vanessa after she is disturbed by a vision in her prayers. The video also shows Vanessa asking Ethan if she can sleep with him who agrees. Fans are eagerly waiting for the two to be together since there is some obvious chemistry between them.

Watch "Penny Dreadful" on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
