Because of its uncanny Victorian Era setting, filled with fictional monsters all braided into one stellar narrative, 'Penny Dreadful' has easily became one of the most-watched show premieres this year. Starring Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, and Josh Hartnett, the cast members engage in many complex fight scenes with supernatural figures.

Show creator John Logan talked to Variety and presented an idea how the planning for such scenes is made.

"You want an action sequence to have its own DNA and feel to it," said Logan on the fight scenes in Penny Dreadful, according to Variety.

"We wanted the 'Penny Dreadful' action sequences to be appropriate to the piece, so our fights are barroom brawls; they're really ugly and violent — it has the feeling of savagery," added Logan.

Meanwhile, Eva Green revealed hints that there will be a big development regarding the relationship of her character, Vanessa Ives, and Ethan (Josh Hartnett).

In the first season, Ethan was always enamored with the kind of allure that Vanessa exudes, except for the times she is possessed by the devil, of course. Green reveals that the two characters will be closer, and that their relationship will be explored in the following season.

"It's a very beautiful relationship," said Green in the interview with E! Online.
