Phoenix Suns trade rumors 2016: 76ers' Nerlens Noel part of team's future?

Moving forward, the Phoenix Suns appear to be a team that is getting younger as well. And one of the positions in which they can inject youth is at the center position, with Nerlens Noel potentially making that possible.

When the 2016-17 National Basketball Association (NBA) season opens, manning the no. 5 position for Phoenix are Tyson Chandler, who is a veteran, and the younger Alex Len.

Sooner or later, Chandler will have to retire or he might leave the Suns when his performance diminishes. When this happens, Len is likely taking over at center for the team.

For the Suns to continue the trend of having two great players at no. 5, they might consider trading for Noel. This move will be impactful not just at present, but also as the franchise gears up for the future.

Noel would be an excellent replacement for Chandler. Having him and Len gives Phoenix a couple of young centers who are still improving, and in the future, they could be the key pieces the organization needs to again succeed.

So far in Noel's career, he showed his defensive prowess, especially his ability to protect the rim. The 22-year-old also proved that he can be an offensive threat as he bettered his scoring last season averaging 11.1 points per game.

In a possible exchange, the guy who Phoenix may send to the 76ers for Noel is point guard Brandon Knight.

The 76ers badly need a point guard and this worsened with Jerryd Bayless expected to be out due to a wrist injury. Knight could be Philly's main playmaker with Bayless out and he may even take the role in the long run.

Knight is a recent regular in the rumor mill with Suns head coach Earl Watson deciding to use him as a player off the bench when Eric Bledsoe came back from injury.
