Phoenix Suns trade rumors 2016: Four players given up for DeMarcus Cousins?

The Phoenix Suns want to contend, and despite the talent the current roster has, it may not be enough. They need a major boost and the Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins could be that guy, but they must be willing to give up a lot of assets.

In an potential deal, it was suggested that the Suns could send point guard Eric Bledsoe, rookie Dragan Bender, forward T.J. Warren and a 2019 first-round pick to the Kings. This may seem unfair but Cousins is an All-Star and is arguably the best center in the league today, which is why trying to acquire him entails a huge sacrifice.

Bledsoe is in the rumor mill because there were speculations that Phoenix aims to have Brandon Knight as its main playmaker.

Bender and Warren may have been included because they are young talents who have great trade value. Bender is one of the prospects expected to emerge in the 2016-17 season, while Warren is a good player but he dealt with health setbacks in his two years with the Suns.

A future selection is often part of a package for deals to be better and it makes it easier to get the other squad's approval.

But there will be an issue if Cousins heads to Phoenix because the franchise already has the veteran Tyson Chandler and budding big man Alex Len at the no. 5 position.

That creates a problem similar with what the Philadelphia 76ers are facing as of the moment, a loaded front line, although almost every organization in the National Basketball Association (NBA) would be willing to deal with that dilemma if they are given the opportunity to have Cousins.

Cousins will make the Suns contenders in the Western Conference. Making it to the playoffs will no longer be a long shot for them if they land the former Kentucky Wildcat.
