It looks like Johnny Depp will have his skill challenged as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming 'Pirates of the Carribean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales' movie. Recently it has been reported that 'Skyfall' actor Javier Bardem is joining the cast as the movie's villain.

If reports hold true, Pirates of the Carribean 5, directed by Joachim Ronning and Epsen Sandberg, will have Bardem as the villain. Bardem is said to be acting alongside Christoph Waltz (Captain Brand) as the villainous forces for the movie.

Actor Geoffrey Rush will reprise his famous role as Barbossa, and is rumored to pair up with Captain Brand. Orlando Bloom is also rumored to be coming back for a cameo on the cast of this highly-anticipated fifth installment in the series.

Other cast members such as Ian McShane and Stephen Graham may also be returning for Pirates of the Carribean 5.

Penelope Cruz is also expected to make a return, and it will be convenient for her to star in the new film if husband Javier Bardem indeed takes on the rumored role.

The movie is slated to begin production on 2015 in Australia, with an official endorsement coming from the country's federal arts minister.

"The government is pleased to agree to Disney's request to enable earlier funding to be repurposed for the production of Pirates of the Caribbean 5," said George Brandis, Australia's federal arts minister, in a statement according to Variety.
