This year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has shown many games, DLCs, and gaming hardware to look forward to especially with Sony. PlayStation fans have been expecting to at least be given a teaser about the rumored console that the company's been developing. However, the console code-named NEO was never mentioned and expectant fans were quite disappointed about it and some even wondered if the console even exists.

However, there are reports suggesting that Sony Interactive Entertainment's president and chief executive officer Andrew House mentioned that they are indeed currently in the works of an improved version of the PlayStation 4. House further explained that the PlayStation NEO or PlayStation 4.5 to some will be coexisting with the current PlayStation 4 and added that the company will be selling both the improved and the standard variants of the PlayStation 4.

Meanwhile, current users of the regular PlayStation 4 seem to overthink that the advent of the new console might result in fewer games being produced for the standard PlayStation 4. Nevertheless, House doused this speculation and said that all of the games will still be carried by PlayStation 4, and, at the same time, hopes that most of the forthcoming titles will also support the new PlayStation.

Moreover, the NEO platform is said to be boasting of 4K support on games, which is perfectly appropriate for titles that are high in graphics, not to mention the fact that Sony unveiled at this year's E3 its latest hardware dubbed as the PlayStation VR that will definitely have games that are high in visuals. The NEO console, according to reports, will have a much better performance and faster connectivity. Furthermore, the upcoming PlayStation will not have exclusive features; instead, future games will have the option to be played either on a standard or on the NEO console.

There's no definite date as to when the PlayStation NEO will be released. Nonetheless, it's speculated that it will be out between the third and fourth quarter of the year.
