Plenty of games celebrate Halloween in their own unique ways, and now, there are rumblings that "Pokemon Go" may also be celebrating this day by holding a scary shindig.

Chatter regarding the augmented reality game possibly getting its own Halloween event began to ramp up after some interesting posts were shared by the game's official Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The posts themselves aren't really all that remarkable beyond their mentions of Halloween and trick-or-treating, but at the very least, they do seem to hint that the game's developers have the special day on their minds.

If a Halloween event is in the works, developers have yet to hint at what it could feature, though there are some ideas being thrown around.

Paul Tassi of Forbes has suggested that developers could attempt to make a possible Halloween event truly memorable by introducing some cosmetic items. With Buddy Pokemon already in the game, developers could even make things more interesting by adding cosmetic items that both the trainers and their companions could wear.

With ghost-type Pokemon already in "Pokemon Go," Tassi also suggested that perhaps more of these specific creatures could spawn more frequently during a Halloween event.

The folks over at Niantic could also reconfigure some oft-visited PokeStops so that they may yield Candy in keeping with that whole concept of trick-or-treating.

Unfortunately, there's also a chance that Halloween could come and go with no special event taking place.

As of now, developers have yet to confirm that any Halloween event is coming, and with the eagerly anticipated day nearly here, they will likely need to announce something very soon in order to build up considerable hype for it and to turn it into something that players may actually be interested in becoming a part of.

More news about "Pokemon Go" and any upcoming in-game events should be made available in the near future.
