Fans of the role-playing videogames "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" can use several tips and tricks to facilitate the evolution of their Pokémon into mighty creatures called Ultra Beasts. Under normal playing condition, a Pokémon's evolution is very slow as players will need to perform such activities as feeding the Pokémon with berries and vitamins, giving it a Soothe Bell, and walking around it until it reaches the level in which it is ready to evolve.

Increasing the happiness of the Pokémon, however, can facilitate its evolution. There are several steps that gamers can use to boost the happiness of their Pokémon. First, select a Pokémon that can evolve with happiness, such as Munclax, Eevee and Pichu. Then, find two technical machines (TM) to be used in teaching the Pokémon a move. Teach the Pokémon a new trick from one TM and then replace the move with the other TM. Repeat the process until the Pokémon has achieved the happiness level where it can evolve.

In the new video games, developer Game Freak also introduced a new type of Pokémon called Alola, which is something that can be captured in the Alola region during battles.

There are several forms of the Alola Pokémon. Some of the Alola Pokémon are the Alola Raticate, which can be achieved when the Alola Rattata reaches level 20; the Alola Muk, which is the outcome when Alola Grimer gets to level 38; and the Alola Exeggutor, which can evolve from a normal Exeggute through the use of a Leaf Stone.

The Alola Ninetales and Alola Sandslash can instantly evolve from Alola Vulpix and Alola Sandshrew, respectively, through the use of an Ice Stone. The Alola Marowak, meanwhile, can only be achieved from a normal Cubone during night time upon reaching level 28.
