Pokemon X and Y was launched in New York in October of 2013, and has been dubbed as the fastest-selling 3DS of all time, with over 12 million copies sold just six months after its release.

Last week, Pokemon fans are treated to a special version of Vivillon to celebrate 100 million online trades.

Vivillon is a butterfly that has become one of the premier Pokemons in the trading arena primarily because of its spectacular repertoire to change wing patterns depending on the environment.

This will be the first time that trainers are getting Fancy Pattern Vivillion.

To get the Fancy Pattern Vivillion, a player must connect the Nintendo 3DS to the internet, select the "Mystery Gift" on the main menu, choose "Receive Gift" and then click "Yes" and pick "Get Via Internet" option and click "Yes" once again.

Battle Director Shigeki Morimoto shared how they advanced the game in such a way that it would trap players' attention for a long span of time.

"In Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, we added new features like Mega Evolution and the Fairy type, and included Pokémon from past titles in these features, so the battle environment has really been changing. I participate in countless online battles myself, and right now I'm really enjoying building my own way of battling," he said.

On the other hand, GAME FREAK Director Junichi Masuda, who has spent the last few years in Pokemon game development, gave a tip to those who are into the competitive battling mode.

"Especially when you're starting, don't worry too much about winning or losing, and I think you can absolutely try making your team around the Pokémon you like."

The next installment of the franchise, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will hit the shelves before the year ends.
