Portland Trail Blazers trade rumors 2016: LaMarcus Aldridge comeback impossible?

Recently, it was reported that LaMarcus Aldridge could be traded by the San Antonio Spurs. Because of this, some teams were immediately linked to him, but perhaps among the ones disinterested are the Portland Trail Blazers.

An unsuccessful championship pursuit last season, together with the desire to be a face of the franchise, are thought as reasons why Aldridge could be an expendable for San Antonio. Despite these, the 31-year-old remains a much coveted player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) because he is an established star.

However, as mentioned, the Blazers may be counted out from the group of squads aiming to acquire Aldridge from the Spurs.

In a report by The Inquisitr, it was stated that Blazers fans are rejecting the idea of their beloved team trying to trade for Aldridge. This shows that they are still disappointed at the veteran big man who is a former star of the franchise.

Before Aldridge joined the Spurs last year, he was a cornerstone for the Blazers. Sadly, similar with other prominent players in the league, he left to chase a title. Besides this, some believe Damian Lillard's ascension was also a major factor.

That is why a reunion with Aldridge is something Blazers fans are wanting to prevent, even though he can make them better and his return will address some problems on the roster.

Aldridge would quickly make an impact to any team but the Blazers are doing fine without him. The organization is moving forward with Lillard as its main guy and so far it is working.

Last season, the Aldridge-less Blazers finished the regular season fifth in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record. They reached the second round of the playoffs before being eliminated.

To some, the Blazers were surprising, especially since they matched what the Spurs, who had Aldridge, did and also competing until the second round before bowing out.
