Effervescent "New Girl" lead actress Zooey Deschanel will not only be a mother but also a wife. Deschanel confirmed to Daily News that she is engaged to her 42-year-old producer Jacob Pechenik. Just last week 35-year-old Zooey announced her pregnancy to the world with speculations that she will give birth to her child during the summer of 2015.

Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik have been dating for about six months after she broke up with screenwriter Jamie Linden, whom she had been dating for two years. This isn't Deschanel's first marriage as she was previously wed to Ben Gibbard, lead vocalist for "Death Cab for Cutie" and "The Postal Service", according to Hollywood Life. The two split in 2012.

It seems Deschanel's personal life just bloomed along with her professional life. Jacob Pechenik also happens to be the producer of Zooey's upcoming movie titled "Rock the Kasbah" which also stars Bill Murray. Her future husband and father of her child couldn't have come at a better time.

She confirmed her pregnancy to People, saying "Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one". The couple also celebrated Zooey's birthday at Chanell Islands National Park on Jan. 17, 2015. Despite the "New Girl" actress' line of failed romances before meeting Jacob, she always believed in true love since her grandparents and parents are happily married. Looks like wedding bells and baby showers are scheduled for the young actress. Interestingly, her sister Emily is also expecting her second child.

So far, "New Girl" producers and actors have not yet mentioned the fate of the show now that its lead actress is pregnant. For now, everybody on set and fans are congratulating the doe-eyed actress as she basks in the dazzle of her new engagement ring and baby bump.
