Presidential polls 2016 lead predictions: Will Carly Fiorina trump Donald Trump post-debate?

Publicity indeed does wonders, especially for 2016 election candidates and this is what Donald Trump has proven over the past few weeks.

Trump's name has always emerged on top of the GOP presidential polls, followed by Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. But after the Republican debate last Thursday, the tide may change in favor of someone who has not made waves until then.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO, Carly Fiorina, has been sort of a ghost candidate as of late, with her bid not getting a lot of media attention and frenzy. But people perked up and listened to her during the Thursday debate. According to the Inquisitr, though debates are not meant to declare any winners, the female Republican candidate sure stood out from the rest.

Trump, after announcing his presidential bid six weeks ago, and despite the many controversies surrounding him, led the Republican Party presidential polls, according to a pre-debate poll conducted by Wall Street Journal/NBC News. Post-debate, though, this lead may be slashed significantly in light of how the other candidates performed in the early and primetime debates for the GOP side.

Aside from Fiorina, viewers reacted positively to Gov. John Kasich of Ohio and his stronghold to values he showed during the debate. Ben Carson, a neurosurgeon, may not have made a huge impact but his one-liners had some people taking notice in a positive way.

Trump may have hurt his chances during that debate but it cannot be denied that his presence is what brought in the 24 million viewers — the largest ever for a presidential bid debate.

Will Trump somehow hold on to his lead in the GOP polls? Or has Fiorina managed to wow the voters enough to put her on top? Stay tuned as polls roll out this week.

In the meantime, mark your calendars for Oct. 13, as the first of six Democratic debates, hosted by CNN, will take place on the said date in Nevada.
